Bio Meghan Scibona

A little about me:

My new goal is to get back to how I felt when I was 8, totally free and fearless. I know it will make me a better actor and more fun to be around too! I've taken to free song in the subway (still singing pretty low so hardly anyone hears me), become addicted to the exhilaration of being tickled, running as fast as I can down the beach, brushing up on my cartwheels and making shrinky dinks.

I should also mention that at 8 years old, I was very busy performing in the backyard with my cousin Andrea. The critics (yeah, our parents) said we were the most talented and beautiful actresses in all the land. So, you know, I've got that going for me.

I am a native New Yorker (okay, okay, from the 'burbs) and I live in Manhattan. I spent a couple of years in San Francisco and try to remember how much more relaxed I was there, as I run for the subway in the morning. I have an English degree from Villanova University and my background is in marketing/advertising sales and public relations. I do have a day job, freelancing for the Toy Design Department at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

I was once a successful salesperson but was nailed by the dot com crash and took the opportunity to evaluate my life, compliments of the US Government. I decided to pursue my dream to be a working actor.

I have been called a "lifeaholic", which may have been an insult but I'm proud of it. I spend my time training to be a superhero and run a half marathon, take acting classes, write a bit, create greeting cards and handmade gifts.

I decided to write a mission statement for my acting career. It's a little cheesy but it feels right to me: to portray characters in such a way that they will inspire others to find the magic and wonder in their own lives. I've also been compared to Sigourney Weaver lately, so I'm open to taking some of the roles she passes up. Please pass on the word for me…
